Emotional Trilogy combines the genres of dance, performance and installation. Loosely based on the structure of ancient Greek theatre, the performance element features images and motifs from Lithuanian ethnography and contemporary popular culture. Characters from different times and space meet in the piece: Eglė the Queen of Serpents, Antigone, the warrior princess Xena, “Ruki Vverh”, and others. The performance cycle of Emotional Trilogy is extended in a continuously changing installation, which acquires new forms and functions in time. In this way, the artist comments on the static conception of time and the dominance of male characters characteristic of the epic genre and, following emotional and erotic logic, turns these usual power relations upside down.
